Psychotherapy
Therapy is a space for you to bring your thoughts, feelings and experiences and be heard. As you share, I will listen, reflect back, ask questions and offer thoughts. Together, we can give space for emotions to emerge, develop a deeper understanding of your experiences, and explore ways forwards. With time, therapy can help you feel grounded, and more connected with yourself and others.
I work in a way that is relational, empathic and non-judgmental. I also believe that authenticity in the relationship involves gentle challenge, and that honest feedback can evoke meaningful change. Therefore empathy and challenge are at the heart of the therapy.
My work is informed by Transactional Analysis psychotherapy, a relational approach that explores how past experiences and relationships may continue to shape the way we experience ourselves and others in the present. As we understand these patterns, room for autonomy and new ways of being can emerge. I also draw from other models of therapy to support you explore the connection between body and mind, and use creativity as a way to access feelings that are harder to reach.
